Leon Kromski began a turning business in 1918, operating until 1939 when the impact of WWII and Communism made it impossible to continue. His son, also named Leon, having mastered turning from his father, resurrected the craft and the business in 1960’s by producing the first of a line of spinning wheels.
Today the family business is continued by Leon’ sons : Wojciech Kromski – the engineer for wood technology; and Daniel Kromski – the artist and designer of the current line of Kromski products. Their principle products are spinning wheels and in 2001 they developed and produced a very popular rigid heddle loom, the Kromski Harp. This was followed by an improved version the Harp Forte which has become a best seller.
At Wentworth we have the range of products set up for trying out. We have dealt in Kromski equipment since early 2000 being the first to import them into the UK. Therefore, we can give sound advice on deciding if an item will meet your needs. Give us a call if you would like to get expert advice.
We dont expect customers to make on the spot buys with items like spinning wheels. Its much prefered for customers to go away and give it some thought. Often a spinning wheel is a one in lifetime purchase so has to be right. We guarantee wheels and looms for 5 years against any failures.
If you are considering purchasing more than one Kromski wheel or loom please contact us for special prices.
We will always price match Kromski wheels and looms and give a £15 fibre voucher with wheels plus free carriage to UK destinations.
Please note that we do not supply Kromski products to North America and Australia. In these countries contact the local dealers.
We offer free servicing and setting up of all Ashford and Kromski wheels. Simply contact us to arrange a time and bring in your wheel. Charges are only made for any parts used. For other makes we can service and set up but not offer any parts replacement service
