Wools

The term "wool" covers a huge array of fibres that vary a great deal in both quality and price, with some suited to certain tasks more than other. For example, many British hill breeds have relatively coarser fibres, making them tough, resilient breeds ideally suited for projects that need to be a little more hard wearing. Finer wools such as fine micron merino are softer to the touch, so great for items worn against the skin.

As a very rough guide, the more expensive a wool is the softer it is!
