A copy of each of the three classic books from Sheila Smith, covering all you need to get started in the world of felt-making.
This book is the first in a series dealing with the techniques of feltmaking. It is intended to provide the information necessary for the first steps in feltmaking but also give an insight into the process to enable decisions to be made as to the type of felt suitable for the chosen purpose.
This booklet is the second in a series covering feltmaking techniques. It deals with the making of seamless hollow forms for functional items such as hats and bags, but also for sculpting into decorative shapes.

Sculpting Free Shapes
The first two booklets of this series covered methods of making flat felt and hollow seamless forms of felt, so now its time to be more adventurous. One interesting development of contemporary design is the combination of wool fibres with a lightweight woven fabric to produce innovative fabrics with interesting seersucker-like textures. AT the same time small pieces of decorative fabrics, yarns, etc, can be added to increase the surface texture. This type of felt is referred to as Nuno felt.
