Felting Machine Hire

Here at Wentworth we've amassed quite a few machines over the years. Two of these, a flatbed and roller felter, are now availiable for the public to use. Although very different in design, both of these machines allow wonderful felt pieces to be made with very little effort. Maximum group size is 4 persons

Price for hire of machines only. It does not include the cost of any fibres used.

Basic instruction in the use of the machines is given. Lessons in feltmaking are not included in the cost. The hire of the machines is only suitable for experienced feltmakers.

Flat Bed

The Felt Maker creates a 36” x 48” felt piece in about 15 to 20 minutes. The firmness and thickness are user variable. If you require a hard finish we have found additional hand rolling to be necessary.

This machine takes a lot of the hard initial work out of feltmaking. To get the most out the machine hire it is best to come with work prepared. Lay out your designs on a net curtain and roll tightly. The whole lot can be unrolled and placed on the machine. After a few minutes felting the net can be removed and the process continued.

Roller Wet Felting Machine

The FeltCrafts Rolling Machine takes the physical labour out of making felt. It can be used for all felting applications from heavy rugs to featherweight scarves and laminated felt. The machine rolls your project so you can start designing a new one! Lay out your project; wet the wool; and roll it tightly and evenly in your felting mat. The project roll is then placed on the FeltCrafts Rolling Machine. It is a must for production felt makers. Patent Pending. Made in the USA.
