Roving is the final stage in the commercial spinning of yarns. It is a pencil thick single with a soft twist. In the mill it would continue to be drawn out to the final thickness and spun into yarn.
Spinners and Feltmakers take this soft twist roving and have various uses for it.
It can be knitted, used in knit felts, used as a very thick core yarn in fancy spinning, felted as it is or combined in felting by various techniques.
As these hanks are a convenient size they are very easily dyed, particularly with Landscape dyes.

All the hanks are 100gms and 150m length.

Please note that in the USA combed tops are often referred to as roving.
