How to Order

Our website is set up as a shopping cart but if you prefer to talk to someone for advice please call 01226742926. All of us who answer the phone have a working knowledge of fibres and equipment.

For educational, local government, health authorities etc we accept official orders provided the appropriate official order details are provided. Our normal terms for such orders are payment within 30 days. Please send these orders by, mail fax or email. Full vat documentation is provided. Our standard discount terms apply.

All efforts are put into ensuring that the prices shown throughout the site are correct. However, we reserve the right to alter prices without prior warning and at our own discretion.

Delivery Times

Most of our deliveries are sent out within 2 or 3 days but can take up to 14 days when items are out of stock. If it is going to be longer we will inform you of the situation. Orders are dealt with in the order we receive them so at busy times we can take an extra few days. We do have a priority service at an extra charge that can be booked with Parcelforce. Details of cost are on the prices chart lower down the page.
Large or higher value orders to the UK are sent by a signed for service. All export orders are sent by signed for tracked service

 


There are currently 4 ways to place an order;

Online

Orders can now be placed online using our shopping cart. Simply browse the site and select your purchases before entering your payment details. Your order will then be processed and shipped. You now have the option of using PayPal as a payment gateway, either using your account or by entering your card details directly.

There is no logging on to our web site as we do not collect any information about you, how often you visit etc, as we respect your privacy and take as little information as possible.

Please note that payment is only taken at the time we send your order. Our system does not automatically take the payment at the time you order from us.This allows us to check each order as we enter it into our Invoice/Sales receipt system so any errors can be corrected. If the shopping cart has produced too large a total amount we will correct it and take the payment assuming you will be happy to pay less. If the amount is too small on the shopping cart calculation we will contact you for approval to debit your card for a higher amount.

Certain items cannot be ordered online, though this doesn't mean they aren't available. Some items require us to collect sizes, colour, model,etc and this is much easier to do either over the phone or via email. Please contact us if this is the case. We like to give as personal a service as possible.

Shipping costs for export to anywhere in the world are automatically calculated if the Buy Now buttons are used. If this is not possible, you may contact us by E-mail with the order and we will calculate the total cost

All payment details are collected using a secure SSL server. We do not store customers information any longer than is required to ship the order. We take security very seriously; if you have any questions please contact us directly.

If paying by PAYPAL please ensure you have sufficient funds available in your account. If you don't you may face charges from PayPal itself to process the order. Wingham Wool cannot be held responsible charges made by PayPal for reasons relating to your account.

Simply give us a call and let us know what you want. It helps if you have the order codes handy. We don't run a huge switchboard with hundreds of call-takers, so sometimes the phone line may be a bit busy. If this is the case then sit back, have a cup of tea and try again in half an hour! It may be we are having a tea break in the garden.

Mail

Snail-Mail is still alive and kicking! An order form can be downloaded HERE or you can simply write out what you'd like. Please include your full postal address and payment, either by cheque (UK) or card details.

E-Mail

When ordering please provide us with your full name, postal address and contact details. Do not send card details by email! Once your order has been received we will reply with a link to a secure server to ensure that all your details are kept safe.

All packages are sent by Royal Mail or Parcelforce. We do not use any other service. The higher weights and value items are on a signed for service from Parcelforce. All export orders are on a tracked signed for service.

Priority service orders are sent by Parcelforce. They must be received before 11am and are subject to all the items being in stock. The 24 hour Parcelforce service does not include Saturday deliveries.

Export carriage charges

Carriage charges are calculated automatically through our shopping cart or you may request details by email to overseas destinations. From the UK we have two systems. Below 2 kilos it is a Royal Mail Signed for Service which is trackable. Above 2 kilos it becomes Parcelforce which is more expensive if you look at our carriage costs you will see a big change between the cost of up to 2 kilos and then over 2 kilos. Sorry for this but it is how it works in the UK. Have a look at the Royal Mail and Parcelforce web sites for details on the costs.

Carriage charges for Europe
We now have a Parcelforce contract with one price for orders between 2 and 30 kilos at a greatly reduced rate to most EU destinations. Have a look at the shopping cart rates when ordering.


Discounts

Everyone likes a discount! Rather than use a complicated discount system, we keep prices as low as possible to start with. Because of this there are no discounts available on Kromski and Ashford goods. However, for everything else the following applies:

£50 or more - 5% discount

£200 or more - 10% discount

£400 or more - 20% discount

£500 or more - 25% discount


Delivery Times

Officially we state that orders will arrive within 14 days. However, the reality is that parcels normally leave us within 2-3 days of being ordered. If you require your order urgently then we do offer a Priority Service for an additional fee (see table above) provided by Parcelforce. This is a next day delivery if the order is placed before 11am and the goods are in stock. For the Highlands and Islands region this is a 2 day service.

Very rarely when items are out of stock and we are awaiting delivery it can take up to 28 days for us to despatch the order.


Colour Disclaimer

We make every effort to ensure that colour reproductions are accurate throughout this web site. However, due to the varying nature of individual screen calibrations we cannot be held responsible if a particular product does not match your expectations
If you receive a product which is not how you expected you can return the item under the Sale of Goods Act, however you will be liable to cover the cost of return postage. Please see the Returns Policy below for details.


Returns Policy

Should you receive any item which you are not happy with the first thing you should do is get in touch with us. Ideally we can sort out any problems over the phone or by mail.

If any faults occur within 12 months of purchasing equipment we will either rectify the problem or replace the item. Many items of equipment should perform for a much longer period of time.
If problems caused by faulty manufacture arise in the future we will accept claims for repair or replacement. This does not cover any parts subject to wear in normal usage.

As consumers you are entitled to return any un-opened product within 7 days of receiving it for a full refund, however return postage costs must be paid by the customer.
Should any goods arrive which are faulty or damaged we will pay for return postage and replace the item(s), though please contact us before returning items.

At all times we will comply with the current legislation concerning the UK Sale of Goods Act

For problems with faulty goods sold to destinations outside of the Uk we try and apply the Uk legislation. If you have problems please contact us as soon as possible.


Non EC Orders

Customers ordering outside of the European Union are not liable to pay VAT. This will be deducted from the total. If you are using the online buying option please enter "NON EU" in the voucher box in order to calculate the correct price.

Orders up to 1.5kilos will be sent via Royal Mail Airmail. Orders over this amount will be sent via ParcelForce Airmail. We have discounted contract rates with these companies. We do not use surface mail as insurance and tracking is not available.

Funds will be removed from your account at the point of dispatch, not when the order is placed. All charges will be made in £Sterling. Current exchange rates may be found at www.xe.com , though this should only be used as a guide: exchange rates may vary from when the order is placed to when payment is taken.

Any import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser. We cannot advise on these as each country operates their own system.
