Washed Fleece
Well washed fleeces which have been mill scoured. This results in a fibre which can then be used with many different techniques, from carding through to felting. These wools may still contain a small amount of vegetable matter.
This is the safest way to handle fleece as all the offending dirt has been removed. If handling dirty/greasy wool you should be up to date with tetanus vacinations, the risk is no greater than gardening where the same precautions are advised when working with soil.
